borrowed a penny...

ok, I'm still not feeling up to the hand pie, but I am up to reading blogs. And, again, Make Me Some Pie has been an unexpected joy today. He mentioned three of my favorite things: Austin, TX, free art, and pie. Oh, and a special treat for any robot fans out there.

on hold...

My efforts toward the blueberry hand pie are on hold for now. I'm on sick leave for a day or two...

feet first....

After muddling through and "designing" my blog page, I'm jumping in feet first.  Remember when finding a penny delighted your soul and a gasp of excitement escaped your lips? That's what I'm hoping to do for myself through this blog. I decided several years back that I would randomly throw pennies in my yard when I knew our grandchildren would be visiting, namely one little guy named Emerson right now. The object being to bring delight and opportunity to tell them/him about God's blessings on us every day. I stole the idea from someone somewhere along my way, but I think its a great one and look forward to enjoying it. Other little pennies in the grass of late are various blogs that I have discovered. I intend to spend some time reading, enjoying, learning from, and sharing these blogs. Hopefully I will be inspired to share some of my own experiences as I'm prompted while perusing.

I was very excited to come across Make Me Some Pie through the Muddy's Bake Shop web page. I have been a pie baker since I was a child and it is true therapy for me.  Ok, ok...I also LOVE to eat pie, especially chocolate pie. Dietary limitations of late have steered me toward gluten free options. This blog covered gluten free pie baking! I'm hooked and can't wait to try some of the recipes. Please note that there are many, many blogs and websites for gluten free recipes and I have utilized them. BUT, the chefs at Muddy's are committed to excellence, so this particular blog has my attention since they are fans. BTW, if you haven't been to Muddy's for a cupcake...go...now.

Ok, the pie highlighted in the blog was a berry hand pie. I have blueberries handpicked by my college roommate when she was here for a visit. I intend to make the pie and come back with a report.
